You may perfectly rely upon the insertion of your declaration in the next No of the Review – I am not sure that it is quite correct in me to answer your other query – but I do not hesitate to inform you that the writer of the article on the life of James II. is not the same person with the writer of the article on the Constitution of parliament –

I regret extremely that you should still view the supposed error of our statement in so unfriendly a light – and that it is not in my power to satisfy you further as to the sources of our information – It is probably quite  in vain for me to add for myself that I am now aware that they were of the most respectable description – and might perhaps deserve a still higher epithet —— I have the honor to be
